The Senior Academic Coach leads academic coaching with a laser focus on establishing a sense of belonging for their students that results in increased persistence, retention, and graduation.  The Senior Academic Coach monitors the implementation of the CSU Standards of Care to ensure that every student receives individual support in the areas of Academic Coaching, College Life, Caseload Management, and Data Analysis. 

Who is Kristina?

Kristina Artino, a 20-year veteran in higher education and academic advising.

I came to Cleveland after stints at Case Western Reserve University, Florida State University, and the University of Akron.

Prior to my role as a Senior Academic Coach, I served as the Assistant Director of Student Advancement and then Associate Dean of Undergraduate Advising at Case Western. While there I managed a cohort of 400 students from enrollment commitment through graduation.  

Prior to my time at Case Western, I spent the 2021-22 academic year as Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services at Florida State.  At FSU I provided academic advising services to all student-athletes, specifically overseeing advising for the Seminoles' track and field program. 

I spent twelve years in various roles at the University of Akron, my alma mater.  Starting my journey as an Administrative Assistant in the School of Communications in 2009, before making my way to the Athletics Department where I served in various roles within the Academic Services unit from 2012-2021. I finished at the U of A as Interim Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services during the final months of my tenure at UA.   

I have two grown children, Anthony and Maria. I enjoy spending time with my golden retriever, Enzo, and going on walks and being in nature.

Artino holds four degrees from Akron: an Associate's of Applied Business in 2006, a Bachelor of Science in 2009, a Master of Science in 2011, and a Master of Arts in Education in 2018.

Transitional nursing students, preparatory nursing students, and traditional BSN students. These students all fall under the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.

Who is Alex?

I am a proud two-time graduate of CSU (MBA, MLRHR) and enjoy biking to campus from my home in Midtown Cleveland, which I share with my wife, Jenn, and our two cats, Boaz and Jachin.

Who is Jen?

I am a Cincinnati native who has spent most of the last ten years working with health students. Outside of CSU I can be found spending time with my family and friends, playing roller derby, and constantly learning from books and very nerdy podcasts. I am looking forward to getting to know you all!

Who is Nathen?

I am a double graduate of Bowling Green State University and got my start in advising there working with international students. In my spare time, I enjoy all things Cleveland sports, coffee, table tennis, badminton, hiking, and being with my wife and two kids.
