Cleveland State University’s College of Health strives to provide innovative, relevant programs that prepare students to think deeply about their practice, teaching and research, to impact healthcare and meet the ever-changing needs of our community.

The College of Health is excited to launch a dynamic new Ph.D. program that focuses on transdisciplinary work that pushes beyond the health field and into engineering, urban studies, education and more. With our Transdisciplinary Health, Sciences and Technology (THST) program, we bring together a diverse group of health professionals and those in health-related fields to prepare students to meet unique challenges and become leaders in healthcare technology.

Our THST Ph.D. program uniquely prepares students for in-depth scientific research while integrating the study of technology to address health and health education. We utilize transdisciplinary practices to collaborate with innovative research teams within the College of Health and across campus. Courses are broad in content and structure and emphasize healthcare equity for diverse populations. Students also gain teaching skills to share transdisciplinary, technology-informed practices with future students. We offer flexible degree plans tailored to meet your needs and disciplinary interests with guidance from a dedicated advisor.

Applying for Admission

  • Official graduate-level transcripts or official letter of completion from the university

Entry Requirements

  • Undergraduate GPA of 2.75+
  • Master's or clinical doctorate degree in a health profession or other closely related field.
    Official transcripts or official letter of completion from the university required.
  • After admission, maintain minimum cumulative GPA 3.0 in all coursework completed at Cleveland State University
