NEW ONLINE COACHING CERTIFICATE

Cleveland State University has launched an Online Coaching Certificate program. The certificate program is designed to provide current and prospective coaches with practical, technical, tactical, and theoretical skills needed for coaching youth, adolescent and young adult sport teams. The Coaching certificate program is aligned with the National Standards for Sport Coaches

This program is available to students in all content areas who meet CSU entrance requirements.

The Coaching Certificate is 15 semester hours WITH three on-line NFHS courses required to be successfully completed and verification certificate submitted to coordinator of Coaching Certificate program.

PED 491 Coaching Essentials/PED 591 – Coaching Principles (3 cr. Hrs.)-Spring’20

This is the foundation course for the Coaching Certificate. It is a comprehensive introduction to the coaching profession. Emphasis is placed on sport at the high school and serious club levels. Consideration is also given to coaching at other levels, such as youth, recreational, and intercollegiate sport programs. The primary goal of the course is to develop and enhance your knowledge and understanding of concepts and techniques of coaching and their application to achieving success in your program and enhancing the experience of the athletes you coach.

Cleveland State University – Department of Health & Human Performance has launched an online Coaching Endorsement Certificate program. The program’s goal is to encourage excellence, diversity and Engaged Learning to current or future coaches by providing a contemporary and accessible coaching education program that encourages the development of athlete-centered coaching practices and experiences that will enhance the athletic experience for every student.
